Shortest bed I've ever slept in. Not suitable for 6 footers. The apartment is very bare, not even cheap prints on the wall.
The room had new furniture and was roomy.
When we arrived, we walked around and under the building, there was no signs or an office anywhere. We rang bookings. com who inturn rang the owners which took awhile, once we got to talk to the owner and the girl that showed us into our room they couldn't speak much english. After travelling 6 hours all you want to do, is get into your room. This took us about 45 minutes. If we ever go back to Bargara Beach we will not be staying there again. Bins in bathrooms were not emptied and the carpet in the bedroom is very stained.
We are a bundaberg married couple, who have traveled the world, and stayed in 90% of units and hotels in the bargara area, and we have never stayed in a dirter unit,we even slept on our towles on the couch.I don't think we would ever stay at the platinum apartments again. thanks j&k perry
Very clean apartment with a great location, just a short walk to the beach. We booked a two bedroom apartment and was surprised with a 3 bedroom! Getting a little tired around the edges but is expected with most hotels etc ( little water stains on carpet & some cracks on walls), still very stylish and great for the family. Definitely will return for another stay!
it was close to every thing all in walking distance
I like that this place I chose to stay had a lounge area I hate having to use the bed as seat. I also like that this place had a full size refrigerator. I like to carry my own cooler and it's good to be able to refreeze my ice bricks. Thanks I will probably stay again but not on a Sunday or Monday.
It lost points for lack of places to eat at in the area. Bargara has such a great location and only one nice place to eat at " Kacy's" if a meal could be charged back to my room this would an advantage.
Doors banged, drains smelled
Modern apartment, recently refurbished
The housing complex had gone bankrupt and was just recently purchased by a new company. Although the apartment was nice, the building was partly still raw and in the process of being finished. The elevator was not working and we had to carry everything into the top floor. If you don't mind those inconveniences, then it's still a good deal.
Convenient in Bargara.
Quite disappointed with the hotel and have stayed in quite a few of late on our family trip. This was the least impressive. Marketed as luxury but far from it. Tired and dingy. Certainly not worth it for the cost. Location not to bad but not beachside. Needs a good overhaul.
There is no name on the building or check-in desk. So we drove around for 30 minutes looking for the building. Then the lady looking after the unit (on level 3 with no signage) did not have our booking details. The signboard was hidden in the car-park and not visable from the road. We needed to call the owner in Brisbane to confirm my booking. The main bathroom had a severe mould problem. The linen and the rest of the rooms were fine. Overall, a very disappointing experience and not recommended to other travellers.
Location was great.
Room leaked in 4 different spots Blood on the back of main bedroom door. shower clogged up in main bathroom and water came up through drain in middle of bathroom and flooded everywhere. only 4 bath towels for 6 people. railing on balcony rusted through and when my son leant on it it rolled forward and half off. only had a bottom sheet on the beds and in the cupboard was a doona but too hot for that. main bedroom stunk because carpet was very wet from floods. aircon didn't work in main bedroom and had to have windows open because of the smelly carpet so go eaten alive by mozzies. So yes as you can see we were a bit disappointed for the price we paid. I was actually in the middle of writing you guys a letter when i got this email. I think we should be given a credit to use as it wasn't as enjoyable as it should have been. Regards Krissy Parker
no reception on arrival just a number stuck to the wall. Then hard to communicate with the girl that came down to the car she couldnt speak english. So we had to find our room.No matress protectors on beds.Housekeeping not very good.Big dissapointment. Will not stay or recommend.
Very well situated close to the beach and esplanade at Bargara.
I'm sorry but would never stay at Platinum Bargara ever again! It was filthy when we arrived, and considering we paid $250 per night, I think this is totally unacceptable!! Also the air conditioner in the second bedroom did not work. We needed to use the second bedroom, so this was also unacceptable. We never saw any reception staff. The whole place is run down, and dirty. Swimming pool was unusable, it was so dirty and murky. Unfortunately for us, we had already paid, otherwise we would not have stayed there!!
being able to walk everywhere and the location & view. Air-con in the rooms and the spaciousness of the apartment.
The unit for the most part was clean and furniture seemed practically new. Location was great, not on the front but the next best thing. Kitchen nice and fairly new also. Air conditioning was great.
Some constructive criticisms: It would have been nice to have some sort of reception, where if you had a question/problem you could get it dealt with. I don't like having to ring mobile phone numbers. Even if it were for a couple hours each day, at least then you would be certain of seeing someone. The laundry had a dryer, but would have been nice to have a small airer. The dishwasher didn't work [well i couldn't get it to work] and I did ring and ask about it, and I got a reply but when they came to look at it, we weren't at the unit. If they did come, it was still not working. So, again, someone at a reception would be nice. I mentioned the furniture seemed almost new, but in the main bedroom, the bed was on the wrong side of the room, all powerpoints were not accessible for the lamps, which renedered them useless. [This is just something to consider when setting up the room.]
